Elvis Slot Machines

The Elvis slot machine exists. It had to exist, right? And, not only that, there are actually several Elvis slot machines out there today. Let’s take a closer look.

About Elvis

Elvis is a cultural icon of the 20th Century, and is so historically important to modern music that he’s lauded as the King of Rock and Roll. He is the best selling solo artist in the entire history of recorded music, having sold over 600 million records worldwide. Some sources say he’s sold as much as a billion records since his reign in the music world!

Elvis was one of the first recording artists to popularize rockabilly, a music genre featuring an uptempo, backbeat-heavy fusion of pop, country, rhythm and blues. After having his contract acquired by RCA Victor, he went on to release his first record under the label in 1956. That record was his first number one record, ‘Heartbreak Hotel.’ And, as they say, the rest was music history.

Even though he was drafted in the military by 1958, he still maintained his popularity. By the time he returned to the United States, his popularity became stronger than ever, culminating him acting and starring in over 30 Hollywood films. He naturally provided a soundtrack for each. Despite his untimely demise, Elvis is immortalized through his accolades (including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award) and the fact that his music is still celebrated decades later.

The Slot Machine

International Gaming Technology wanted to create an Elvis slot machine that exemplified everything about the King of Rock and Roll. Naturally, they ended up producing several Elvis slot machines for people to check out. Those machines include Elvis: The King, Elvis: A Little More Action, Elvis Multi-Strike and Elvis Rockin’ The Charts.

The Elvis slot machine series pretty much pay homage to the illustrious career of Elvis. IGT is especially lauded for paying close attention to how they incorporated his music with the conventions of the machine itself, producing a result that creates a memorable experience for all players alike.

Characteristics

Elvis fans and Elvis buffs alike will adore the Elvis slot machine, but it’s also a pretty entertaining machine for casual audiences. Even as you approach it, you’ll be greeted by the familiar sounds and the voice of the King himself.

All of the Elvis slot machines are based on traditional video slot machines or, in other words, the slots you’ll encounter when you hit the casino floor. You’ll have to keep trying your luck in these games, too, since they’ll keep you busy!

Instead of three reels, these Elvis slot machines feature five. That’s a characteristic featured in most of IGT’s slot machines, including all of their known Elvis slot machines on casino floors today. There’s also a maximum of 25 pay lines for each of the slots. Players also have the choice to select amount of credits they’d like to put into each pay line, which varies between as little as 0.01 credits to as much as 40 credits. So, you can wager as much as 125 credits on one spin—if you dare, of course. The slots are also convenient in that it allows players to bet in US dollars, Euros and British pounds.

Symbols and Features

Although most of the Elvis slot machines have five reels, some do have the traditional three reels. That includes Elvis Rockin’ The Charts, Elvis: The King and Elvis: A Little More Action.

All of the slot machines naturally feature images of Elvis in his most famous looks, in addition to various famous stills from his movies. The symbols of the Elvis slot machine are also commemorative. The symbols include all of those famous looks, his famous jacket, goggles, Elvis casino chips, microphone, his shoes, the logos, golden tokens and his guitar. Other Elvis slot machines feature symbols found on traditional slot machines, including the classic number 7, BAR and cherry.

Bonuses

The Elvis slot machines have some of the most unique bonus gameplay rounds around today. The bonus rounds give players a chance to earn money without, well, losing what they already have.

The main Elvis slot machine has three distinct bonus rounds, all of which are named after Elvis’ hit songs, Viva Las Vegas, Heartbreak Hotel and All Shook Up. These rounds are usually activated when all three bonus symbols appear on the middle reels. The unique thing about the bonus round is player can select their choice of song—and that determines what bonus round they’ll play.

The Viva Las Vegas round gives players 6 free spins, with the potential to increase their spins with the ‘roaming wild’ perk. That makes all of the symbols morph into wild card symbols.

The All Shook Up round features three tumbling reels, an IGT innovation, which gives players the opportunity to multiply their winnings in a single spin. The Heartbreak Hotel round makes things even more unique, giving players free credits to trek through seven different levels of the Heartbreak Hotel. Every floor they reach, increases the winnings there. If they manage to make it to the final floor, they may win the 5,000 credit jackpot.

Even if you’re not an Elvis lover, the Elvis slot machine is a great machine for people who want to get a taste of pop culture with all the fun of playing slots.
